With Renault and John Banks Motability Scheme, some cars are available for no more than the cost of your allowance, however, to widen your choice of cars, you can pay what is called an Advance Payment. Advance payments are non-refundable and made to your dealer at the start of your lease. An Advance Payment is simply the difference between your higher rate mobility allowance and the overall cost of your chosen car over its 3 year lease. The Motability Scheme helps disabled motorists enjoy the freedom of driving but reduces the worry about a large portion of the running costs.

Am I eligible for Motability Scheme?

The Motability Scheme provides worry-free mobility to disabled people as it enables you to exchange your mobility allowance to lease a new car. You are eligible to join if you are in receipt of one of the following allowances and have at least 12months’ award length remaining: Motability allows you the opportunity to exchange your allowance to lease a new car. In order to be eligible you must have been receiving one of the below and have 12 months remaining. All vehicles purchased under the Motability scheme include metallic paint.

HRMC DLA

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) provides an allowance that can be used towards a Motability lease agreement.

WPMS

AFIP

ERMC PIP

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a benefit for people aged 16 an over with a long term health condition or disability. PIP will gradually be replacing the Disbility Living Allowance (DLA) to dwp.gov.uk/pip.
