Honda Civic e Updated with New S+ Shift Technology and Enhanced Sport Grade
Honda has announced a series of updates to its Civic e hybrid range, introducing its innovative S+ Shift technology, an upgraded Sport grade and additional safety features.
First seen on the new Honda Prelude, S+ Shift is now available as standard on Civic Advance and Sport grades, bringing a more engaging driving experience to Honda’s popular family hatchback.
The updated range also benefits from refreshed exterior colours, improved interior details and a new driver monitoring camera.
Honda S+ Shift Brings a More Engaging Drive
Designed to enhance the connection between driver and car, Honda S+ Shift simulates the sound and feel of an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The system synchronises engine speed, vehicle speed and sound to create a more responsive acceleration experience. Working alongside Honda’s Active Sound Control technology, it also adjusts engine sound to reinforce the sensation of changing gears.
Drivers can use the steering wheel paddles to shift through the simulated gears, with features including rev-matching during downshifts and a more noticeable engine-braking effect for greater control.
The technology builds on Honda’s existing Linear Shift Control system, further enhancing the Civic’s sporty driving characteristics.
Upgraded Civic Sport Grade
The Civic Sport grade receives a range of styling and equipment upgrades, including a premium 12-speaker BOSE sound system as standard.
Exterior changes include a new gloss-black roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, while the interior features red stitching across the seats, centre armrest, door trims and steering wheel. Red detailing around the dashboard grille adds to the sporty appearance.
The BOSE audio system has been developed in collaboration with Honda to deliver an immersive listening experience for occupants throughout the cabin.
New Colours and Enhanced Safety Technology
All Civic e grades — Elegance, Sport and Advance — now feature a driver monitoring camera positioned on the interior A-pillar.
The camera forms part of Honda SENSING, the brand’s suite of advanced driver assistance technologies, helping provide alerts to support driver attention.
The updated Civic range also introduces Meteoroid Gray Metallic to its exterior colour options. It joins Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Premium Crystal Red Metallic and Seabed Blue Pearl.
Efficient Hybrid Performance
Every Civic e grade continues to use Honda’s full-hybrid powertrain, combining responsive performance with refined everyday driving and real-world efficiency.
Drawing on more than 25 years of Honda hybrid engineering, the Civic offers a driving range of up to 528 miles, making it a practical choice for both daily journeys and longer trips.
With its combination of dynamic handling, hybrid efficiency and new technology, the updated Civic e continues to build on the model’s appeal as a sporty and versatile family hatchback.
