The Dacia Sandero is officially Europe’s best-selling new car for the second year running. While this is a title it has held since 2017 for retail sales, figures for 2025 show that the affordable supermini tops the passenger car charts across all channels in Europe for the second time.
In fact, total worldwide sales totalled 289,295. In Europe specifically, nearly one in 55 cars sold was a Sandero, while in the retail market, it was one in 28 cars.
Since it was first introduced in 2008, more than 3.58 million Sandero have found homes with buyers. Its sales success proves that Dacia’s formula of offering all the essentials in a modern, robust and affordable package is continuing to resonate with consumers.
Recently upgraded, Sandero and Sandero Stepway offer even greater value for money with a stronger look, the latest technology and improved efficiency across the range.
For 2026, both models gain a refreshed exterior design with Dacia’s new inverted-‘T’ LED light signature and redesigned front and rear bumpers, giving the pair a more modern and robust appearance.
The Sandero Stepway further strengthens its adventurous character with additional body protection in Starkle®. Inside, both models benefit from Dacia’s clever YouClip® accessory system, an upgraded 10-inch multimedia screen with enhanced connectivity, and the availability of a wireless smartphone charger.
With such a strong sales triumph, both Sandero and Sandero Stepway continue to play a key role in the enduring success of Dacia.
